Welcome to Alexa's web page. Alexa is 1! We can't believe that a year has gone by. Despite our colicky beginning, Alexa has turned out to be a delightful child. She is always full of smiles. However, she can not seem to sit still long enough to give out those coveted hugs and kiss. She took her first steps on Superbowl Sunday and within 2 weeks she was walking everywhere. Needless to say, she is pretty unstopable now. She has also added climbing to her repertoire of tricks. Her latest achievement is climbing up her slide backwards and turning around at the top and sliding down forwards. The only thing that will get her to stop moving is books. She enjoys being read to. Along with her land based activities, Alexa loves the water. We go to mommy and me swimming lessons once a week. She already puts her head underwater and knows how to hold onto the side of the pool. She loves the water so much that she will do anything to get wet, including openning the shower door to interrupt the shower of an unsuspecting mommy or daddy. As for her vocabulary, she has mastered a few words such as mama, dada, ball, and rock, rock. She regularly points to things that she wants, shakes her head "no", and waves "bye, bye". She has also started responding to simple commands/requests. All in all, we are pretty amazed by our daughter. In just a year, she has gone from a baby to a toddler and she is quickly becoming a little girl. As always, you are all invited to come visit us. The guest room is usually vacant except for the occasional visit from Grandma and Grandpa. We hope that you enjoy the pictures!
